I was researching Quadrajet stampings and information to assist in knowing what one is looking at and interesting as the carb off sons 69 L34 Nova is marked very similar with the carb I.D 7029215 EH (1969 chevrolet manual trans) and stamping on left rear base plate of 35 C. i'm wondering if carb Hawk was showing is actually a C and not G? Reason, it could be his other stamping below the 035 C gives the appearance of a G, but that is just a what if type question.
Note under our 035 C there appears to be a "T" stamped 90 degrees to the left underneath. NCRS newest 68'69 Judging manual notes many quadrajets have a "C" on the right rear base plate which sons carb has.
Interesting to note his carb appears to never been taking apart (was off car for 40 years) and there is NO date code stamping other than the 035 C, whatever that was used to quantify.
Sorry for the delay in posting the pics I promised. The pics I took that day weren't very clear. Now something is up with the site for me. It keeps timing out etc. Attempt three... I had to switch to my phone to post initially, but I can now modify using my laptop. The site also kept popping me into a new thread post instead of posting what I wanted... Seems like the Gremlins are only on CRG for me. And I don't mean the AMC kind... ;-)
These pics are a higher resolution and taken with a much better camera phone than the one I had before.
One last thing. Notice the red "R" stamped on my carb. We had a big discussion about it on camaros.net. It's been seen on other original carbs, but nobody could definitively say what it was.
