Recently purchased a car and discovered the engine was from a 1969 Camaro Z28.
Pad ID -V0107DZ
Pad Serial- 19V5760xx
Block- 392386  K 20 8
Heads- 3927186  L 2 7 8  &  A 1 6 9
Intake & Carb is 1965 Corvette
Posted hoping to find good home.

RonZ, please post the entire VIN. The idea of the orphans section is to reunite original drive train parts with their cars. Without the full VIN, it's basically impossible to do this.

Ron, it’s the other way around when a problem typically develops.

Posting the VIN of a car and saying you need the Z28 or L78 or whatever engine, then someone can make up an engine, restamp it and then it’s a problem.

If you post the VIN on the engine, there is only one match. No problem. 

Usually what happened when there is an orphan engine is the car was wrecked. But there are cases where car and engine have been reunited.

I agree with Bryon. There's only one car out there that matches that engine - it's not like someone will invent a car to match.

If you have a car and are looking for the original engine, that's different....
