General Discussion / Power steering pitman arm nut
« on: June 16, 2021, 08:15:35 PM »
Owning a late 1969 Camaro you relize several things don't fit into "normal".

Aquired a 227 pitman arm from another box today. The box I took the arm from is dated 121 9 & the socket size was 1-5/16

My box is dated 011839 & the socket size is 1-9/32

Anybody else run into this?

Thank you, Hoe

Yes; a few 'C' prefix 396/402 engines were used in production starting late August '69.
Thanks William. That's where my car is, Aug 28,1969. Hawk X66 has one also...Joe

I read several articles about the 402 here but I couldn't pin point when Chevrolet started using the new 402 in the 1969 Camaros. Anybody know?
Thank you, Joe

If you have your originals, there's supposed to be a guy who rebuilds them...Joe

Nothing has been done to that car. It almost looks like the RH fell off but the car is in Utah so I can't verify. We'll see it at MCACN...Joe

The original wiper blades on my 08/28/1969 car are not peaked. I've read somewhere that was earlier in 1969 with the peak....Joe

I can't see the heads on these bolts but most of mine have the double circle with 6 lines (grsde 8) going from the inner circle to the outer circle. My engine was built 08/21/1969. That doesn't mean that's correct for your engine as they bought bolts from different supplier....Joe

Where do you want to use it. I think the only place I've seen it is on the temp sender wire...Joe

Saw that one and the new owner's comments. Saw several things that were obviously not original. Makes me ill.  :(

Me too....Joe

Is there anything known about this car? The current owner bought it as a numbers matching conv. The rivets looked weird to me Thank you, Joe
