112th production camaro, 6 cyl black interior with Nantucket Blue and white stripe. 250ci/155HP L22 L6
The POP has an odd transmission code S0707 which is following the same format as the engine code Saginaw 3 speed yymm (rather than the Trans Code Format: tymdds)
Plain jane no options - I'm always curious about these early low price buyers.
-
Actually, early cars were low-option to keep complexity down. Get the line running smooth, then ramp up the options.
-
That makes sense, thanks!

Note the engine dates on this car (number 112) a regular production vehicle, is 07/07/66, yet from the old pilot car thread the 001 pilot car first assembled in May 0f 66 has an engine dated 8/3/66. How is this possible, did 001 roll around for 3 months without an engine while it performed its pilot duties, or did it get a replacement engine installed (by GM) when it was reconditioned and made available for sale to its first owner?
