10 years ago I could get a vinyl top installed for $250; now I am being told $1K.
Does anyone have any recent experience having one installed?
The car currently does not have a vinyl top so the molding pins would have to be installed too
Thanks!!

Was just told 500 for labor. The glue is very expensive. A decent original type top is $250 from Heartbeat city. They have all the pins and clips also. In the same boat as you. Having one done but have not pulled the trigger yet.

I had to have a top made at SMS because they were the only place that had parchment & I also needed the seams to be in the correct location. Everybody else had white. 400.00 for that top plus install (haven't priced yet)....Joe

I assume that when you have a new vinyl top installed you have to remove the front and rear window to do it. Is that right?

I have had a Shop replace a 68 Camaro V top w/o glass removal, but as you suggest I would be easier & better for the installer

You can install it with contact cement. It's the pins that are the pain....
