Crappy photo, but if this tag is genuine, the rear-ended Pacer listed on ebay was built later than the CRG Pacer report suggests the build period ended, week 05A..... thoughts?

Info I have shows early Feb to early May.

Until the VIN is known [requested], no conclusions can be made about where it fits in. Just a few weeks ago, the latest Norwood Z11 known to the CRG [N644261] auctioned at Mecum Kissimmee. That car was final-assembled on or about May 16th; there was no 05B. Within a few hours of that car, units with 05C tags began to enter final assembly. For a day or so, 05A and 05C units were simultaneously present in the body bank and final assembly.
The eBay Z11 was a well-optioned, expensive car. With a confirm # of 341263, the dealer order was definitely expedited. Other dealer orders in that range have 05E tag dates and were final-assembled around May 29. There is a slight possibility the eBay Z11 has a lower VIN.
Body tag date is only a general indicator of final-assembly date. Cars were not built in VIN or confirmation # order.

It was late Feb to early May.

CRG Pacer Report says:
The pace cars were all built between 02D (4th week of February) and 05A (1st week of May).
Which is why an 05C tag stood out and prompted my question.
I took that to describe the build weeks on the tag as well as the actual build week, but maybe not.

To close this thread out for future search or reference, based on replies on another forum post, the VIN for this car is 124679N6480xx and it is the last known Pacer VIN built.
-
And is an outlier from the other Z11 cars. :)
I updated the pacer article to reflect this.

No proof without Docs but, I wonder if that steering wheel could possibly be original like the one other 69 known to have it?
-
They are a common wheel. I see them often in 69's, all added.

Technically, not correct. The latest body tag date at Van Nuys was 05A but many of those [L5301xx-L531163] sat in limbo due to the 52 day UAW strike. There were several Z11s in that group; we have data on two. Latest known Z11 was built on or about June 23, 1969.
-
Ok, so it is the last known Norwood Pacer VIN built, not the last known Pacer VIN built?
-
Yes, N648xxx is likely the last Norwood Z11.
Ambitious project.

It's been relisted with a revised description and a start bid of $17,000

Seems like a number of options were added and not factory-fitted.

VIN is 124679N648060

I wonder if the defogger was added. If so, someone chased down a rare part - the top/defogger dash bezel.

It's reproduced.

Yup, but this has been sitting for 25 years. You'd have to see the install to tell....
