Seat mounting holes

Not sure that makes sense. For F bodies it is adjusting the seat, not location on the floor where seat is mounted. Right?

My car is an early 68 and I sure don’t remember 2 sets of holes.

I compared the bolt holes in my 68 & 69. The 68 has 4 holes that line up with the forward holes on the 69. According to what Ed posted you would be moving the seat forward. This would indicate GM was using the rear set of bolt holes as the default mounting in 1969....Joe

Now we just need to try and narrow down the timeframe that the second set of holes showed up in the 1969 model year.

I'm not sure about that interpretation, as when I bought my '69 Z28 in 1976 my legs were too long, and 'somewhere' (not sure if it was a car mag or a manual) I read taht there were a farther back set of holes, so I checked mine and ended up moving the seat position BACK and gained 3/4" of leg room (in front)..   but of course this took away from the already meager back seat space...

Since this isn't the 1st time my seats have been out, I don't know which holes it was in from the factory. It doesn't really matter as long as I can drive the car. (I was built a little lower to the ground ) I was just using what Ed had posted. I've had this car since 1981 & this restoration I was paying a little closer attention to things I've seen here. This is the cars 2nd restoration.....Joe

I read again what Joe said. First part is correct. Front set of holes is default.

I'm confused with the service manual.
It sound like they are moving the mount on the seat? They do not say 'floor pan' (like the other models) , but 'upper channel'.

That's the way I interpreted the instructions.  If I were a contortionist, I'd go look to see if it makes sense to me.

That’s how I read it. Nothing to do with holes in the floor, at least for 68.

Most 69s don’t have the holes. We just do not know when it started. Sounds like maybe late winter at LOS and summer at NOR.
