Thats good news, thanks kurt. The reason i got this block off ebay was because of the assemly date. My original engine is long gone and the 396 that was in my car is from a 1966 impala. I do have the POP for my car and the assemly date for my original engine is T0617MW, 11 days after the assemly date on the block i got from ebay, probably as close as i will ever get to my original engine.

thanks

See http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=30.150

It sure appeared like the post by rod67ss is by you.

Yes I did... but it was years ago. You should find the posts under doing a T56 swap into a '67 that I did back in '98. Not sure of the date of posting - but it was under rod67. I couldn't remember my password & my Email has changed so I just registered again under rod67ss.

Hey Rod, can you post the full engine pad numbers from the 396 in your car (that from a 66 impala), so i can add the info to my fullsize list?
Thanks, Warren

Kurt,  I was looking back and i must have joined around March or April of 2005. My mistake on the Oct. date. That must be when the new formatt started. Anyway i was Rod67 in the old & new forums.  Thanks for all your help.

tar6569,  here are your numbers on the impala 396.  Pad : T05I8IVR and they are I's not 1's.  Partial vin : 6S260489. Casting date on block : D 22 6. Heads : 3872702 with casting dates of E 12 6 both heads are the same. Number by the flange at the back of the block : 3855961. Hope this helps.

thanks
