Title: Warranty Block CE0091077
Post by: 69RALLYSPORTZ28 on May 01, 2021, 07:07:59 PM
From the Inter-Organization memo I have seen, CE V8 engines from Flint were numbered from 20,000 to 49,999 and Tonawanda V8's were numbered from 50,000 to 79,999
Has anyone seen any documentation on CE V8 engines numbered higher than 79,999, as in this case ( if original ) numbered at 91,077?

Probably J 10 9 based on it being a CE block for the 1970 model year (CEO start sequence).

The sequence may be an error.

Is it a Flint block? If so it will have a 1/4 inch pipe plug above the water pump area in the front part of the block.

Is there anything stamped on the block on the oil pan flange area near the oil filter mounting area?

Does this help or make it even more confusing?

October 1968 at Flint.

Should be a CE9 stamping. I’m betting the front pad was stamped incorrectly.

Would you think it should have been stamped CE9001077 thereby solving the year issue and the out of range sequence serial number?

Anyone else have a CE9 block with a low sequence serial number so we could compare casting date and assembly dates?
