Question on aftermarket cowl induction hoods for 1969 Camaros. I need to purchase one and wondered who has the best quality and most accurate of the hoods. Are they all made by one or two vendors or are they all imported? Different companies advertise their hoods as coming from OEM tooling. I find this hard to believe. I am a 35 year Diemaker who works for GM. I'm sure these tools are long gone. They only run service parts for 7 to 10 years. That being said: what is my best option for getting one if I can't get an original? How is AMD metal? Classic sells one that is more money, but is this the same hood as other companies, just charging more? Any thoughts or past experiences would be appreciated.

I bought a new GM hood from HeartBeatCity 3 years ago. GM, or a suppler had the tooling and kept making they for the last twenty years. Some were a little rough (not bad in the 80s) The one I bought was a a GM part and is a perfect piece of sheet metal. I don't know if they are still available. I don't know about the other supplers out there. I hope this helps. Pat
