Title: Original firewall markings
Post by: 69z27z87 on May 17, 2016, 04:58:01 PM
As I mentioned in another post, I had my car media blasted with plastic media. The results were pretty amazing in that it took off 3 layers of paint and rust yet left the metal factory clean. How clean?... You can see the original markings on the firewall.... I am assuming these were probably a crayon mark from Fisher body

So far I have made out "G80" for the spoilers, "N10" for standard dual exhaust, and "OK" written over it all.

One looks like "B94" on the left but I cannot relate that to anything. Looks like "G08" in the upper right but again, no ideas.

These were not visible when the car was painted.....

Anyone else find these markings or have ideas on the other codes?

CO8 is Vtop
D80 Spoilers
N10 Dual Exhaust
Z21 - exterior trim

all of these were under the firewall blackout.

There's an old thread with this. I did mine with soda and all kinds of stuff appeared. Color might be on yours near heater box

Way cool.....It's sort of like a crayon version of an UOIT.

Here is mar for burgundy on mine. Not sure how it stained the metal if it was over over the first layer?

The MAR was clearly applied at a different time than the Z21 or M21... the _21 would have been unreadable with the MAR over the top. PLUS the metal is cleaner under the _21 marks.

The car is Frost Green, Are you looking at the picture I attached, the others are from an old thread, I see the number 30 and M22, I'm thinking the M22 must be the transmission but not sure what the 30 means?
