Two of my friends cars had dash fires because of mice.

Those little bastards can get in the tiniest of holes!!

It has a Jerry MacNeish Cert of Authenticity that appears real - Jerry states original drive line and trim tag.  Its a good deal now, but assuming the price jumps in the final hours.

So Jerry certs it be a Z28 original trans and rear end but makes no mention of original born with engine like he does all his certs?

Just wondering about the first page of the Jerry MacNeish reports. On the engine line, he typically puts “original” when the engine is original to the car. It only shows the block and head casting information. The rear and trans both mention original. Is this the original engine?

If it was proven that he did commit fraud on one of his certs it would end his business. I'm not saying that's the case here because he clearly doesn't say it's original. But, lying by omission is still a lie.

That's a very crisp engine stamp for a 50 year old car.

Good day,

Can you tell me more about this Camaro? Is it a factory yellow SS big block car? Any idea on the miles on the engine?

Thank you.

I got back:

Clearly they know and don't want to answer the question.

With the increasing successful litigation of sellers/dealers for misrepresentation of vehicles and parts they try to reduce their liability with stuff like "believed to be" or "pervious owner says". I hate dealers and flippers.

General Discussion / Re: Under hood Insulation Blanket

In this instance the car is a standard interior. Was the decision to install blankets driven by solid lifter noise?
Thanks,
Hank

I wouldn't think so. My L48 RS/SS w/deluxe interior has the hood insulation.

Yeah the rust on the mat normally matches what was on the metal at some point. If the rust was not completely removed then it's just lurking under the spray waiting for a chance to show it's ugly face.

I found this R12 to R134a conversion kit for a 1967 Camaro, but don't have any experience with the company:

https://www.originalair.com/67-camaro-134a-rotary-compressor-upgrade-kit

I bought a kit from them. Other then the newer style compressor, which I ordered in black, it looks ok. The compressor clearly isn't factory looking but you do retain the suit case in the engine compartment as apposed to a vintage air look.

I live in the Southeast and with the hot humid summers AC is must. If I could get the A6 compressor to work with 134a I would have done so. I guess I should say, work well enough, which it didn't, I would have kept it.

Does anyone inform these people? Such as sending them the link to the last B-J sale?

I did but heard nothing back. I'm sure they know but will say stuff like, believe to be an original or other such nonsense.

Came across this on FB. What’s everyone’s feelings on reproduction.

It's pretty easy to tell when factory 1.94s have been cut to add 2.02s and they don't unshroud the intake valve.

Do you still want photos if the factory insulation is still in place?

General Discussion / Re: Trunk Appearances, what do you like?

If you would, vote on the poll above,
thanks

Your options don't provide the best 'options' for most of us here, since this site is for ORIGINAL Camaro enthusiasts (not modified), many of us cannot vote for the options you provided...     If you run such a poll at 'Camaros.net' (which has more modified clients) you will likely get more participation.  Here we are concerned with HOW our camaros came from the factory...

How much splatter paint a Camaro received seemed to vary a bit over time and perhaps between the two plants.  My original splatter paint ran up MOST of the sides of the trunk, but not all the way to the top.

Whether a trunk mat was used in early Camaros was a function of the other options the car had...   And a good reproduction trunk mat doesn't seem available to us, which is why I've taped/repaired my original one...

I know most of us have big issues with repro parts. I have a nicely worn factory but bought the most expensive reproduction I could find. It was horrible at best. It wound up in the trash and the nice used factory mat is back in the trunk.

As for the pole, it could use a few more options.
