Ted:Based on info I see, this could be either a 69-72 396/402 V8 Big Block or a 69-73 454 V8 big block. Used on Camaro, Chevelle and Chevy II's. The CE060689 is a Chevy Replacement number and I believe is was from theTonwanda plant. C=Chevy E= Engine, 60689= the sequence number of the engine. Not sure what T031867 is, the "67" does not match any codes I have seen. The T should stand for the Tonwanda plant 0= 1970 3= March and 18- 18th day. The 67 no idea.

Could you double check the numbers and post them again? Where is the T031867 stamp located? What is the cast date? Any chance the CE sequence reads CE068689 and not CE060689?

Thanks for the info on my engine block. I will doublecheck the numbers in a couple of weeks and surely get back to you. I just finished adding another 396 engine to a Kurts person who does a registry for CRG. This engine is a 3916323 dated T0911 suffix MY dated H18 7. Original parts such as: water pump and 215 heads dated G25 7 and F30 7, also original balancer and the various pulleys are on this rebuilt 396. As you can see from the above I am a new person on the block ... so to speak. This engine will be up for sale soon and let's hope through the registry, it can make someone extremely happy... Ted

I thought that might be you :) I'm 36j1967 on the camaros.net board. Glad to hear you sent the VIN info to that Kurt guy :) I'm doing some research on the CE blocks so if you could check the stamps again and get back to us I'd appreciate it...photos would be great!

A quick question(s) for you::: I have a 1955 265ci engine, do I let Kurt know the numbers even though it is not obviously specific to Camaro??? A Holley 4555 #3972121 X 70 Z/28, and a Rochester 7029202 DH 0869. I am not sure of what I am to let him know or is it just engines and their VINs. Is someone doing a registry for Olds /Pontiac + Vette Rochesters from the mid to late 60's??? Thanks in advance!!! Ted

Ted,
As I emailed you, no luck on the 396.
The Rochester is from a L48 / LM1 auto car.
We're only interested in 67-69 info.
Thanks!
