Title: window washer questions
Post by: Rufcar on December 23, 2013, 03:29:36 AM
I have no washer parts on my car but when I painted it I did install the correct nozzles. That said I presume the pump goes on top of the wiper motor? I have seen the 69 washer bottles on either side of the engine, which side is correct? I believe my power plug is still there which is rare for this car as most plugs for many things were removed as you can see buy all my other posts last week.
I have an parts order ready for Ground Up for the a.m. I assume there pump items are semi correct?
I did find a NOS pump on ebay so I know thats USA made anyway.

I believe the washer bottle if on different sides of the engine bay, depending on it RS or not...  RS on passenger fenderwell...  someone will correct me or clarify if it's more to this than what I've said. and there probably is. :)

Today I installed the washer pump, hoses and bottle and all worked. Yea! The question is what is the wire on the right side of the wiper pump with the rubber cap end? I believe its a blue wire.(http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa244/rufcar/washerpumpsmallerpic.jpg)](http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa244/rufcar/washerpumpsmallerpic.jpg) (http://

I think that goes to the oil pressure sending unit behind the back of the manifold.

68Z I think you might be right as mine was already a tube type pressure unit before I copper plumbed it to my new console gauge!  Thanks

Did I miss something ? Is this an RS or open headlight car ? I assume open headlight as the headlight washer is not on your unit -

If this is an open headlight the nozzles should point out.  the rs nozzles
were pointed to the driver side.  I believe that to be correct
