As I read it, is there no letter N in the stamping date?
Looked here first.
http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml
After looking at this one, it’s clearly an N stamp. That seems wrong or maybe December?

Any help is appreciated.

That looks like an 'M' to me....

Thanks for affirmation on that. It’s the angle and I just enlarged it on my iPad to confirm. I guess an alternator date of Dec 2 is a tad too late for an 11E car. …..or is it?
-
Hey isn't that a Hodge-Podge alternator, as in Combination of the early externally regulated 10DN (Front) with a 10SI (Rear)?
I am not sure

Looks kinda jenky to me, and I’m not going to buy it. Still looking for one closely dated to my car. Think I found one but it’s a tad early I think. What is the generally accepted build date of an alternator or starter before the car? Within 60 days? After reading some older posts from here and .net, it appears the consensus gives a larger window for the 6 cylinder cars. But I am curious because it’s a 61 amp, which may mean not so much.

Check with wilma99 on ebay. He might have what you are looking for.

Wilma has nice re-stamped units for a decent price I thought.
