Title: Custom Interior 69 Camaro
Post by: babaron on January 04, 2011, 11:05:40 PM
Ok, help me with this one.  I've read the CRG info on this but am still confused.  I've seen 2 '69 Camaros in the last 2 days that had "custom" seat covers (which I am defining as ones with vertical bands as opposed to horizontal) and "standard door panels" ( which I am defining as without the carpeted bottom.)  I had always thought that "custom interior" meant you get vertical bands on the seats AND carpet on the bottom of the door panels. Never mixed.

Am I wrong or are these cars restored incorrectly as far as factory correctness goes?

Thanks.

Ron

You are correct. Did the cars have woodgrain over the glovebox. What were the TT interior codes. The cars could be standard and someone stuck deluxe covered seats in them.

But you are correct deluxe interiors alway received deluxe seats, door panel and various trim pieces.

There are many "restored" Camaros today that have cross-bred interiors. Houndstooth covers are commonly seen in standard interiors.

Here's comfortweave seats with standard interior. Odd miscue for a "total fresh nut/bolt rotisserie restoration." Even has a "789 Holly carb." Can't expect perfection for $99,500 I guess.

That's one of the 2 I was speaking about.  Great, thanks for the info and clearing up my confusion.

A lot of pictures posted on the auction and not one of the trim tag.

If that was the only miscue then I'd allow the term 'restored'..... ::)

I emailed the seller and asked to see the trim tag.  He emailed back and asked what a trim tag was.  I explained it to him and have not heard from him in several days.
