James, The techniques and tools you come up with to recreate the factory markings are nothing short of amazing.

I’ve found the hose installation is straight pretty forward on a assembled car. I’m going to tackle the firewall grommet as soon as my son is available for the under the dash work. I think it will be easier with people and he’s a hell of a lot more flexible.

I'm going to install the hoses this weekend, hide a little excess under the dash and at the actuators. Thanks for the input.

I purchased a repo vacuum line kit for 68 RS headlights.  Does anybody know if packaged hoses are precut to exact length or are they to be trimmed as necessary? I think I could tighten some of lengths up a little. I don't have any originals to reference for length. Thanks

Darrel,
What is the clip attached with a single screw for? (picture 132 upper left corner of the door). I wish I had  your attention to detail, good work.

I'm assuming you didn't have to contend with the drive shaft to use the floor jack method? The screwdriver method didn't work, just frustrated me, I had to walk away. I just picked up the computer to look for another style snubber.

I've been trying, without much success, not to scratch anything. so I didn't try the screwdriver. I'll give that a try today. Thanks

I've tried WD-40 type lubricants, synthetic grease, dish soap, dish soap with a rope pulling up through the mount. Similar to installing windshields with a rubber. No success. Looking for Idea's. Thanks

Maintenance / Re: Brake light dimly illuminated
« on: July 03, 2021, 03:29:50 AM »
Update: I took parts from the sensor in the repo block and used it to rebuild the original sensor that solved the light issue. The original sensor was missing a small o-ring, the plastic insulator was broken in half and the flat portion was smashed. These issues together allowed the sensor to sit deeper in the block making slight contact creating a light ground. The ground was not strong enough to light my test light, but would dimly illuminate the led light in the dash.

I haven't been able to source a new sensor/switch. My dist. block was supposed to have been rebuilt, but upon further testing I think all they did was clean and paint it. I ordered a repo block today.

I could have done a better job of articulating my testing procedure . I was pulling 12v+ from the battery and grounding to the terminal on the block. Thanks for the reply

Does anyone know where I can purchase the Brake light switch in the distribution block? I can purchase the entire unit ,but can't find just the switch. The plastic insulator sleeve on mine is broken in half.
