Title: "SS-350" Badging dropped in Jan '67?
Post by: kforce on March 21, 2009, 06:30:25 PM
Just read this @ http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml#SSHood

...When the SS-396 was introduced in January 1967, the badges were changed for all SS models to read "SS".""

WHEN in January did this happen? I have an 01D '67 SS-350 with an original SS-350 grill emblem and gas cap. The guy I got it from in 2001 had several
early Camaro projects. He had replaced the original gold interior with an original black interior. So who knows if the SS-350 emblems were original to my car.

Anyone have a 4th week January "SS-350" with just "SS" badging?

Here's a clue - if you look in section L48, sheet A4 in the '67 Assembly Manual, you'll see that the original SS grille emblem (3893844) was replaced with 3916610 on 3-3-67. That's the date the sheet was changed, not necessarily the date the change was made in production, but it tells you that a running change was made from one SS emblem to another.
